American Public Television releases new self-help program from acclaimed creativity expert and TED Talks Education star Sir Ken Robinson
FINDING YOUR ELEMENT WITH SIR KEN ROBINSON to premiere on public television beginning June 1, 2013BOSTON (May 31, 2013) – Hailed creativity expert Sir Ken Robinson wants to help you live your fullest life in FINDING YOUR ELEMENT WITH SIR KEN ROBINSON, a new special from American Public Television (APT), a leading distributor of programming to the nation’s public television stations.
In this program, Robinson seeks to answer the question he was asked most frequently in response to his New York Times bestselling book The Element, “How do I go about making the best of someone’s natural abilities?” The program teaches finding contentment through an inward journey of self-discovery, and an outward journey of creating and seizing opportunity in order to do the work you enjoy.
“FINDING YOUR ELEMENT WITH SIR KEN ROBINSON offers practical advice, techniques and resources that will help you put your ideas into practice, helping you lead a more fulfilling life,” said producer Michael Rose. Robinson was recently featured in Vanity Fair magazine, where he was praised for the way he “gave voice to what so many of us are living through.” His 2006 TED talk “Do Schools Kill Creativity?” is the most watched TED talk of all time, with more than 16 million views.
Robinson’s message has captured the attention of the press for its relevance to people of all ages and in various life stages, and will be featured in multiple publications this summer including Cosmopolitan and Time. Robinson was also recently featured on “Charlie Rose,” and is slated to appear on public radio’s “On Point with Tom Ashbrook.”
The New York Times-bestselling author also released a new book in May, Finding Your Element: How to Discover Your Talents and Passions and Transform Your Life, which inspired this self-help television special. FINDING YOUR ELEMENT WITH SIR KEN ROBINSON, made possible in part by the generous support of the Education Marketing team at Adobe, will air on public television stations nationwide beginning June 1, 2013 (check local listings).
